Project 460K LA wasn’t born in a consultant’s office.
Project 460K LA was born on X, in an organic exchange of posts between myself and the data analysts for the California GOP, working out the math in real time of how many people in Los Angeles County voted for Donald Trump on November 5th, 2024 who are not registered Republicans. That number is approximately 460,000.
This is the target I set for how many voters in LA County would likely consider changing their voter registration to Republican, potentially growing the Republican Party in LA County by more than 40%!
These series of posts on X were commented upon by Elon Musk, Scott Presler, and other big X accounts and movers-and-shakers in the Republican Party nationwide, excited about the idea of Project 460K LA.
The news of Project 460K LA spread quickly, and it was covered in major media outlets, such as One American News Network.
Once the fallout from the devastating destruction of the Palisades and Alta Dena fires caused by failed one-Party Democrat leadership in Los Angeles County and California sunk in, the number of people in Los Angeles open to voting Republican in the future skyrocketed.
Ad agency Madison McQueen commissioned a poll among likely voters in Los Angeles County between January 19 and 22, 2025. 43% of respondents said they would consider GOP leadership in the city or county in 2026.
Extrapolated out to the electorate of LA County, that means an estimated
2.5 million voters would consider voting Republican, potentially approaching close to parity with the Democrat’s 3 million registered voters, and potentially expanding the Republican Party in LA County by an additional 1 million voters above and beyond the 460K who already voted for Donald Trump!
In other words, we have the potential to grow the current size of the Republican Party in Los Angeles County by 150% merely by focusing on officially re-registering our own voters as Republicans.
How are we going to do this?
Educate Voters
Voters need to be educated about why the way in which they are registered matters, and how they can easily change their registration in under two minutes online.
This can be done initially with social media campaigns and through community chats. If you aren’t already participating in a local conservative community chat, create one!
Recruit Volunteers
Volunteers interested in manning tables at local farmer’s markets, gun shows, car shows, citizen swearing-in ceremonies and similar community events should contact the Los Angeles County GOP directly at LAGOP.org and send an email about your interest in helping with voter registration specifically to info@lagop.org.
Identify the Targets
The scale at which LA can grow the Republican Party can only be acheived using digital data tools to identify and send targeted communications to our likely voters who are not yet registered Republicans. This will take time to develop a strategy and funding to execute it.
